We all know that Easter is a few weeks away and I’m just wondering what you guys are all doing out there. What kind of stuff is your congregation doing for Easter? Here’s a list of songs that I’m mulling over in my head.
- Oh Happy Day
- Marvelous Light
- The Wonderful Cross
- Mighty To Save
- All Because of Jesus
- Lord, I Lift Your Name On High
So what ideas have you all come up with for Easter? Song-wise? Drama-Wise? Creative-Wise? I wanna hear about it… lets share the wealth.
UPDATE:
My thanks go out to MandoRon, Stephen Barry, Eric, Jason, Bobby, Tony Chavez, Stephen, Portorikan , WorshipCity, and of course Jeff Thompson for sharing what you guys are doing for Easter. Honestly, I’m so glad that we are able to share what we all are doing for this week because it gave me a glimpse into what you are planning and helped me think out side of my box. In fact you guys gave me some ideas that I didn’t have and helped me confirm others that I did have. So thanks for all the input guys. I’m glad that we all could share what we are planning for Easter. Anyway, here’s my final list.
1. All Beacuse Of Jesus - Fee 2. Happy Day - Hughes 3. Amazing Grace (MCAG) - Tomlin (Thanks to Worshipcity and Tony) 4. Marvelous Light - Hall 5. Christ the Lord is Risen Today - Our Arrangement Also in there we’ve got a childrens choir doing a song and we’re also doing the Everything Skit that Tony mentioned. It’ll be a great morning. I look forward to hearing how all of your stuff went when it’s all said and done with. Happy Easter!!!

It’s a short set but each one is like 7 minutes long so it evens out.
On The Third Day - Matt Maher is a good one.
There was an idea I love that came up in our creative meeting. We’re talking about God’s power today to resurrect the dead places in our own lives. We talked about flowers as a sign of life. We thought it would be cool for everyone to get a dead flower on the way in. They would have a chance to respond and get rid of their dead flower. Then on the way out, everyone gets a live flower to represent the new life that Christ can bring.
I thought it was kinda cool. We’ll see if we can tie it all in and make the logistics happen though!
Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone) - Chris Tomlin - Service Opener w/ Choir
Fix You - Coldplay - We will be doing this song with a video.
Everything - Lifehouse - Will be done with a live drama.
At The Cross - Hillsong - During Altar Call
My Future Decided - Hillsong United - Final Song of the Service
may be a little verbose for your people, but
“See What A Morning”
is an incredible Easter song.
We Have Overcome
Here I Am to Worship
At the Cross

Amazing Grace (Chains are gone)
Here I am to Worship
I’m working on Christ the Lord is Risen Today with a real Coldplayish shuffle beat to it.
Obviously that’s too many songs but that’s what I’m looking at.
Oh we also found this video that Amena Brown did called Resurrection that is incredibly sweet!!! I highly recommend it!!
We’re doing:
Because of the Cross (up-tempo original)
Nothing but the Blood (original arrangement inspired by The Killers’ “Bling (Confessions of a King” - check out the killer bass groove!)
Then we’re showing the classic “That’s My King” video clip.
Then we’re doing 2 classic songs with the full band and kids:
Awesome God (Hillsong United version)
One Way
We try to be pretty close to what we do every week, so people get an idea of what our church is really like.
Good luck with your service, bro!
my set looks like this
Filled With Glory
In Christ Alone
Mighty to Save
Before the Throne of God Above
Christ the Lord is Risen Today
SONGS of response (after message)
Wonderful Merciful Savior

My songs ended up being:
Happy Day
Joyful, joyful we adore Thee
In Christ Alone
You’re beautiful
Wonderful Cross
Christ the Lord is Risen today
I do have a guitar friendlyish version of it. Think the drums from Yeah Yeah Yeah’s Maps. If you want it let me know.
