I was making lunch for my wife when I heard that a plain hit the tower. speculation was that it was a small plane, and this was an accident. I happened to be watching when the second plane went in.
I had just become a stay at home dad. there was enough uncertainty in that decision. I was glued to the tube all day long.

in my history class about 3 blocks away from the WTC. the crash actually sounded like a car back firing.
I was driving to work in Dallas traffic when the first hit. Usually listening to sports talk radio, and believe it or not they were covering it better than the news stations… When the second hit i was still in the car… it was obvious it was more than just an accident. pretty intense the rest of the day/week/month/year

I was in a photography class about to go into the darkroom. Someone said a plane had hit the WTC and we thought it was a small plan. One of the lab techs had a radio on and pulled out a tv to try to put the news on. A few minutes later, they started kicking us out because the whole university was being shut down.
