For the past few months we at Calvary Church have been going through a series called Parables where we went through the book of Leviticus…. Just seeing if anyone is awake out there. Anyway, it was a great series and now it’s done but we took a quick look back at all the different spots we landed in the past months and it was great to remember some of the things that impacted me during that time. Get the podcast here [iTunes Link] I was poking around a few blogs today and I ran across a post with the video below and it caused me to stop and think about the state of the current worship music scene. I think it kinda opened my eyes a little by giving me a nice kick where it counts… in a manner of speaking. Why? Well watch the video and if you’re a worship leader tell me you haven’t thought about how life would be if you wrote the “next big worship anthem” … Check it… I know a bunch of those guys in that video and I have so much respect for each and everyone of them and I think that God is using these amazing guys to do some awesome things for his kingdom. But I guess what gets me so much is when I ask myself why? Why am I doing what I’m doing? If I never write a hit song or go on tour will I be satisfied? Am I happy just doing what God has me doing here at my local church leading worship for our congregation or am I longing for more? My first response right off the bat is yes I am happy and satisfied but then when given time to think about it I begin to doubt that. Am I wrong in that? Is it okay to want more? Is it ok to dream big? Whats the right way to do it. Ah, look at me just ramble. As you can probably tell this video really gave me a nice kick in the chonies and it’s got me thinking about alot of stuff. But enough about me, I wanna hear your thoughts on this video or even some of the other things. How is this video hitting you? I’m so pumped about going to this conference in a few weeks. I’m looking forward to some great teaching times and some awesome worship times but most of all I’m looking forward to hearing from God and being challenged in my heart. I’m looking forward to just meeting new people in ministry and just hanging with our awesome Calvary crew there. So stoked! So who’s gonna be there to say hi to? |
